FAQs

How do I get into voice acting? Do you have any tips/tricks for people wanting to go into this field?

Please read "How do I get into voice acting?" Mega Thread - it explains everything in depth and will likely answer most of your questions!

How long have you been voice acting?

I started as a hobby in 2004, but have been voice acting professionally since around 2011 when I moved to California (with a few on-and-off professional roles before that).

Can I send an item of mine to be autographed?

Unfortunately I do not have a P.O. Box, so if you’d like something autographed, you’ll have to meet me at a convention (please feel free to suggest me to your local events!) Please do not send important items to studios, agencies or production companies I work with in hopes of getting them signed - chances are your items will not be received or returned.

Can you come to a convention near me?

The best way to get ANY guest you want to see is to tell the people in charge of guest relations at the convention that you want to see us! Attendee input carries a lot more weight than us e-mailing the con saying we’d like to go, so please reach out to your local convention(s) via e-mail, social media, their forums or a guest suggestion page and let them know who you’d like to see.

Can I interview you for a podcast or other show?

Due to my busy schedule, time for interviews is extremely limited and I’ve already done a good number of them in the past. However, if you have an interesting concept, a substantial follower base, or a unique distribution method (such as local TV or radio), feel free to drop me an e-mail.

Can I add you on Facebook/Skype/Discord/PSN/Pokemon GO/etc?

My personal accounts are reserved for close friends and family only. However, please feel free to connect and chat on Twitter (@KiraBuckland) or connect with a community of other voice actors at the Voice Acting Club.

Of all the roles you’ve done, which one is your favorite?

I love so many of the characters I’ve lent a voice to, but if I had to pick absolutely one, 2B from NieR:Automata is extremely special to me for a number of reasons. Honorable mentions include Honoka from Dead or Alive (first playable character in a fighting game), Falke from Street Fighter, Talim from Soul Calibur, and Trucy from Ace Attorney, because I’ve loved those franchises for a long time.

Are you available to voice act for indie or student projects?

This depends on a number of factors such as deadlines and time commitment required, pay rate, and type of project. Feel free to send your inquiry to KirasVoices@gmail.com and even if it turns out I’m unavailable to do it, I can connect you with a community of people who are.

What is your dream role from a show? A game?

Show: Jolyne Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Game: Dizzy from Guilty Gear.

I’m a fan of your work - can I buy you a coffee? Alternatively, is there a charity you support?

I have a Ko-fi page http://ko-fi.com/ladystardust here! If you'd like to make a charitable donation, saving the lives of homeless cats and kittens is a cause that’s extremely important to me. If you donate to Kitten Rescue or to your local organization, feel free to drop me a line on social media as I’d love to hear about it!

Who is your biggest creative inspiration?

David Bowie.
